• RCC Builders & Developers has a long-standing relationship with the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic. Over the years we have completed many rehabilitation projects and upgrades at the Clubs. Our most recent jobs were a facility renovation of the Club in Passaic and a game room upgrade at the Paterson location. Both Clubs are centers of social activity for neighborhood youth, providing beneficial programs in a newly modernized environment.
• In Paterson, the game room’s existing masonry walls were re-laminated and the floor and ceiling were removed and replaced. New drywall was applied to the walls and a combination of laminate and vinyl tile flooring was installed. The reconstructed ceiling includes new acoustical tile and a fully upgraded lighting package. A special feature of the room was the addition of built-in gaming cabinets at each of four video stations. All work was scheduled so as not to interfere with the Club’s regular everyday programs.
• Upon completion, the new space was equipped with all the essentials of a modern game room including pool tables, air hockey, ping pong and foosball tables and of course, video games. In addition, the space is filled with groupings of tables and chairs where cards and board games can be played as well as semi-circular seating areas with comfy pillows suitable for reading, relaxing and socializing. This room will continue to be a center of activity, receiving heavy usage daily as part of the Club’s after-school program.
• In Passaic, a more extensive renovation was performed on three floors of the aging facility. The plumbing and HVAC systems were upgraded and the restrooms were remodeled with new tile and fixtures. The game room and hallways were fitted with new acoustical tile ceilings and new flooring. A new STEM (science-technology-engineering-math) room was constructed. The pool was refurbished with a new humidification system while a new floor was installed in the gymnasium. The lobby and front desk were refurbished with new decorative tile. Roofing repairs completed the project. All work was performed in three phases scheduled so as not to impact the Club’s daily operations.
• These renovations are certain to benefit the young people who frequent the Clubs. We wish the Boys & Girls Club success in their mission to inspire “productive, responsible and caring citizens” and look forward to continuing our commitment to this great organization.
